We have an exciting opportunity to join out Project Controls team based at our Gloucester Office as a Cost Estimator.

You’ll be responsible for preparing accurate and underpinned cost estimates that are required for effective project/programme control, the key to ensuring that work is delivered on time and to budget. Alongside managing and compiling estimates and other costing information, you will have the opportunity to shape and develop the Cost Estimating capability within EDF.

**What you’ll be doing**

As a Cost Estimator you will:

- Develop estimating strategies to support Projects/Programmes throughout the gated project process
- Prepare and develop life cycle estimates for Projects/Programmes, interfacing with key stakeholders and other project team members, in line with the defined processes and procedures
- Produce basis of estimate documents to support the estimates in line with the procedural standards and the templates provided
- Prepare estimates to support optioneering and business planning as required.
- Review and assess sub-contract tenders and claim evaluations
- Prepare and assess the valuations of significant changes to Projects/Programmes and Sub-Contracts
- Carry out estimate uncertainty and event risk analysis and modelling to provide provision for uncertainty (contingency) recommendations
- Support the EDF Business Planning process
- Collate and analyse historical cost data for bench-marking purposes
- Contribute to Lessons Learnt process at project close out

**Who you are**

As a minimum, our Cost Estimator’s will hold a HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent with a technical aptitude with a high level of understanding of Project Management, Engineering, Procurement and Construction in a highly regulated environment and their relation to project costs.

You’ll ideally come from a project background, and have a strong awareness of the level of interview required with a project team to support the successful delivery of projects.

You’ll be a natural relationship builder with stakeholders both internally and externally and able to deliver against stakeholder expectations.
