As an organisation committed to excellence, we are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Assistant Practitioner in Speech and Language Therapy with expertise in AAC to join our dynamic team.

As an Assistant Practitioner specialist in AAC, you will work closely with our team of professionals to provide treatment, and support to individuals with complex communication needs. Your primary focus will be on creating and implementing AAC strategies and technologies, ensuring that our clients have effective means of expressing themselves and engaging with the world around them. Your responsibilities will include:
**Responsibilities**
- Providing direct support to speech and language therapists in assessing and treating individuals with communication difficulties.
- Assist in the creation of visual support resources such as social stories.
- Train clients, their families, and caregivers on the effective use of AAC systems, including modelling and strategies to facilitate language development.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and other relevant information.
- Stay abreast of current research, advancements, and best practices in AAC and related fields, and integrate this knowledge into practice.
- Maintain therapy resources
- Assist SLTs with preparation for therapy sessions and during client visits

**Essential requirements**
- Prior experience working as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant or Assistant Practitioner, with a specialisation in AAC, is highly preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with complex communication needs and AAC interventions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, families, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities to prioritise tasks and manage caseload efficiently.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping individuals with communication difficulties reach their full potential.
- Valid driver's licence and access to transportation for home visits

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
