**About us**

Camden is building somewhere everyone can thrive, by making our borough the best place to live, work, study and visit. Because, we’re not just home to UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind.

Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

**The role**

This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team within the Children in Need service. The team is both thriving and dynamic, which work closely with Early Help colleagues and partner agencies to ensure that the needs of children and families are met at the earliest opportunity.

We are looking for an experienced Practitioner on a part time basis, to join the service working alongside social work colleagues and the existing management team. You will take a pivotal role working alongside partner agencies to assess families and ensure that families receive appropriate support and protection. As well as being a versatile and agile worker, you will have strong communication, engagement and analytical skills to promote and safeguard children and their families.

In June 2022 Ofsted rated the Council’s children’s services **‘outstanding’**, placing Camden as one of the best performers in the country.

You will have the opportunity to work within the Camden model of social work, a highly praised model which has been validated by the most recent inspection process and current Camden employee’s alike. This model has created an environment in which social workers feel safe, have increased autonomy, which enables them to be innovative in their work with children and young people alongside receiving good frontline management and peer support.

We take pride in getting it right first time and as such you will have access to excellent training opportunities and support from a well-established senior management team, so you can ensure effective interventions are delivered to children and families requiring support and protection in Camden.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

**About you**

You will have detailed working knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and standards in the Children and Young families’ area accompanied by supervisory experience or other relevant management experience and training.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with a diverse range of professionals is essential whilst also possessing excellent analytical skills. You will also have a sound understanding of safeguarding, care proceedings and court work.

You will be fully qualified, accredited social work professional and hold a current SWE registration.

**Working for Camden**

We’re ready to welcome your ideas, your views, and your rebellious spirit. **Help us redefine how we’re supporting people**, and we’ll redefine what a career can be.

If that sounds good to you, we’d love to talk.
