**Are you passionate about waste? WRc's Waste and Resources** **team is expanding **This will provide **exciting project and development opportunities** for the right person joining us including the opportunity for accelerated promotion to Principal Consultant.

We are seeking for a **Senior Consultant** with substantial experience in the Waste and Resources sector to join our supportive and friendly team in **Swindon**. This is a **permanent **position **open to both full-time and part-time applicants** and is **mixed office and home working** with flexibility in the split.

Building on your academic and industrial experience, **could you be a technical lead to **WRc’s waste doctors team**? **We are recognised as **experts in waste characterisation and classification** and** assess the impact of changing chemical legislation on business**, be it sustainable waste operations or impacts on end of life products.

WRc is one of the UK’s most innovative scientific and engineering consultancies and is part of the RSK Group.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Leading and providing technical support for consultancy projects
- Liaising with clients to understand their needs, identify opportunities and lead development proposals
- Contributing to wider service offerings arising from resource recovery and process evaluation, and the economic impacts of changing regulation
- Performing data analysis and modelling and preparing interpretative reports to share findings with clients
- Contribute to the development of business plans and new business offerings
- Provide mentoring and training to junior colleagues to support and inspire their technical development

**Person Specification**
- Significant experience in the waste and resources sector
- Minimum of a first degree in a STEM discipline, preferably an environmental, engineering or chemical science
- Proven skills in client contact, and proposal and report writing
- Able to lead, motivate, willing take ownership of issues and seek team participation to achieve best solutions

**Salary and Benefits**
- Up to £55,000 per annum depending on experience
- Opportunity for accelerated promotion to Principal Consultant
- Flexible working hours based on a 37-hour week, Monday to Friday
