**How you'll make a difference**:
As an Environmental Health Support Officer (Administrator), you will be working in a small friendly team that mainly deals with food safety, infections disease control and accidents at work.

You will make a difference by providing an efficient, responsive and high-quality administrative support to allow the team to deliver the best possible service.

**What will you be doing?**
- You will be the first point of contact for the Safety Advisory Group, providing support to service and customer requests for event organisations, for example festivals, firework displays and Christmas events around the local authority.
- Your responsibility will be to coordinate the safety aspects of these events and liaise with partner agencies such as police, fire and ambulance to ensure they are legally compliant.
- You will arrange, attend and minute Safety Advisory Group meetings and distribute minutes accordingly.
- You will administer the food hygiene rating scheme, to ensure the appropriate label is awarded to the correct food business.
- You will be the first point of contact in the team and deal with all queries and complaints, seeing these through and escalating if necessary.You will leave detailed notes of actions taken.
- In this varied role you may attend site with Environmental Health Officers to inspect premises and help with purchasing of food required for sampling.
- You will provide an administrative service to the Environmental Health Officers who deal with any infection’s disease control or accidents at work cases and support where necessary.
- You will be required to enter accurate data on our inhouse information management system.

**What we need from you**:

- You will hold a minimum qualification of NVQ level 3 (or equivalent qualification) including English and Maths, or you will hold equivalent relevant experience in administration or business support.
- It is essential that you are well organised and able to plan your work to meet targets set.
- You will demonstrate practical skills and experience in using a range of IT packages with experience in using databases, including running standard reports, analysing and interpeting data and presenting findings.

*We are currently working remotely, but the usual place of work for the team is Broad Lane, Yate, as we provide a service to our customers from the council offices. It is expected that you will return to the usual place of work in line with governmental guidance and local council policy in the future.
