Do you enjoy leadership and management as well as providing specialist MSK treatment to a high standard? We are looking for an experienced MSK practitioner to provide specialist clinical knowledge and management to the team who cover the staff physiotherapy service.

This is a permanentpart time 15 hours per week post and will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in service planning and development, education and training, and clinical expertise. You will need to have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a busy department. You will receive clinical support from one of our experienced 8a Advanced Practice physiotherapists. There is a robust training programme within the department which you will have the opportunity to both contribute to and participate in. You will be supported to continue to progress your career within the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy. To be responsible for the day to day running and management of staff within the Staff Physiotherapy Service.

Working within the Physiotherapy outpatient team, taking the responsibility for referrals and treatment of staff members into the Physiotherapy department

To have overall responsibility for the training and development of staff.

To take a leading role in the advanced assessment, clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex and/or chronic presentation.

To provide an effective high quality service and take a lead role in supervision and teaching of physiotherapists/technicians/assistants in the OH speciality.

To provide skilled team leadership and be responsible for service development within Staff Physiotherapy role, using any evidence-based practice and national guidelines.

To implement policy and policy changes in own clinical area and to set and monitor standards of practice.

To undertake evidence based projects, including recommendations for change in practice and to lead in appropriate departmental research in this clinical area.

The post includes involvement in rehabilitation classes and ‘back to work’ programmes where staff are participating.

To ensure appropriate communication links are established and maintained between the Occupational Health, Staff physio service, HR, Manual Handling Teams and Physiotherapy teams including SCT at St Richards and Bognor.
