**About the Role**:
Have you had experience of working in a GP practice? Do you have experience of supervising staff and have excellent inter-personal skills? Are you looking for a new and exciting role?

East Hill Surgery is looking to recruit a reception supervisor, to work with our friendly team, on a part-time basis, for 30-35 hours per week.

The reception supervisor will have oversight of the day-to-day operation of the reception and the management of daily activities, for staff and customers. They will have responsibility for the line management of the reception team, offering support and providing mentoring, training, monitoring and implementing new reception procedures.

The main duties will include:

- Working closely with other managers to ensure effective operation and ongoing development of their respective functions.
- Ensuring a friendly, efficient service for our patients, as well as support for the front-of-house staff in the practice, working in their specialist roles.
- Working a full spectrum of shifts, which may include early evening shifts.
- Holding regular team and individual meetings.
- Providing leadership and direction, to all reception staff, in excellent customer service, sustainable practice and appropriate health & safety practice.
- Monitoring and reviewing current reception procedures and training documentation.
- Ensuring staff are appropriately trained and carrying out their roles according to their job descriptions and health & safety legislation.
- Ensuring that health & safety procedures are followed.
- Rostering all staff shifts, and managing staff absences and holidays.
- Conducting annual appraisals, of the reception team staff, with support from the practice manager.
- Monitoring the training needs of the reception team, ensuring that receptionists are managing their duties effectively.
- Ensuring that ongoing development of the reception team staff takes place, including provision of regular team meetings, training workshops, annual team building and development days.

All applicants should have previous reception experience and possess experience in supervising and mentoring staff on a daily basis.
