Gloucester, United Kingdom Clarkson Evans Full time

**Electrical Cost Coordinator / Trainee**

**Salary**:Up to £30,000

**Location**:Gloucester

Clarkson Evans is the largest electrical and solar installer working in the new build housing sector, wiring over 24,000 homes a year. Established over 40 years ago, we now employ more than 850 staff across the UK and we work with the country’s major house builders.

**The Role**:
We’re looking to expand our busy Commercial Department with new positions that will help us secure additional work and maintain strong relationships with our customers - the UK’s leading house builders. Join us as an Experienced Electrical Cost Coordinator, or at trainee level if you’re new to the sector and would like to start a structured career path in Cost Coordination that may lead to management.

Joining a department of 30, you’ll work alongside other Cost Coordinators and support the Cost Manager you report to by completing and following up site cost evaluations.

Each of our Cost Coordinators have dedicated customer accounts, gaining a full understanding of their requirements and ensuring that our service is truly customer-focused, despite our national scale. We’re focused on increasing turnover with both new and existing customers and because we operate in a highly competitive market where margins are tight, carefully considered, accuracy, along with top-notch customer service is required.

To provide a customer experience we are very proud of, everyone in the team works in a close-knit unit and we’re constantly aware that providing a great service externally starts with providing a great service internally to our site-based teams.

It’s a fast-paced environment with a culture to rival the positive team-working you’d expect to see on any well-run building site. Working hours are shorter than you might find on site though (39 hours a week, including an early finish on Fridays and no weekend working). There’s also usually no shortage of cakes in the team kitchen or opportunities to socialise out of hours. A strong focus on internal progression means a passion to build a long-term career in the department is essential.

**Responsibilities**
- To develop and maintain relationships with customer to a high standard.
- To Undertake external meetings, to discuss / contest contra charges.
- Ensure excessive charges occurred are recouped in a timely manner.
- Ensure orders and contracts are in place and are correct prior to works being carried out.
- Ensuring all of our sites are running to the best possible profits, and obtaining relevant increases.
- Aiding our Credit controllers, in obtaining aged debt from our customers.
- Aiding our Credit controllers, in securing retention caps and releases are chased through promptly.
- Carrying out internal final accounting, ensuring all possible invoices have been raised correctly.
- Chasing through all works are booked in on time with our site based team.

**Required Experience**

Opportunities are available at trainee level or for experienced electrical cost coordinators. Trainees need not have construction industry experience but electrical experience would certainly be an advantage.

**Required Skills and Attributes**
- Customer-service focused, determined to be responsive and impress at every opportunity
- Strong organisation and administration skills
- A genuine eye for detail, checking own work and ensuring accuracy
- Good level of English and maths
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
- A hunger to learn on-the-job and build a long-term career with us.
- Strong communication skills will be particularly important to take advantage of progression opportunities
