Brushmaking Operative

Hillbrush is a reputable manufacturing company with a long and successful history of over a hundred years. Located in the scenic outskirts of Mere, South Wiltshire. As a fourth-generation family-owned business, we take great pride in our modern facilities.

**Role**

As a member of our Brushmaking department, you will be responsible for operating a range of advanced machinery to manufacture a wide variety of commercial, natural and hygiene brushes. Our brushes are sold both in the UK and worldwide.

The starting salary for the role is £23,423 per annum, working Monday - Friday, 8am - 4.45pm, with an early finish of Friday 3.45pm (39 hours a week) with a 45 minute unpaid break.

**Key responsibilities**

You will be responsible for operating the machine once it has been set up, this will involve;
- The loading of raw materials into the machine
- Checking finished products as they are manufactured for quality against our manufacturing tolerances and spec sheets
- Packing the finished products (as required)
- Keeping the machines clean & tidy at all times
- Reporting any breakdowns or stoppages to your supervisor
- Reporting any quality issues, you may have when you are in production to your supervisor / manager
- Using computer controlled processes, to record your activity on the machines. These processes allow for accurate tracking of production numbers, which are then reported back to your supervisor
- Consistently meet efficiency targets

Experience of operating machinery is desirable but not essential as full training is given.
