Maintenance Fitter

**Maintenance Engineer / Fitter - Arthur Branwell & Co Ltd **is a family run business since 1904 producing ingredients for the food industry worldwide. We are looking for an experienced **Maintenance Engineer / Fitter** to join our team at our facilities in Braintree.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role as part of the maintenance team covers both our sites on Springwood Industrial Estate, to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the company machines and buildings, in planned maintenance and breakdown repairs.

**Key tasks**:

- Responsible for pumps, gearboxes, and pneumatics
- Fabrication - guarding and material ducting (spouting)
- Welding - repairs, making brackets, pipework
- Installing new machines
- Fault finding on machinery
- Routine maintenance - greasing, checking belts, and oil changes
- Rapid response for breakdowns, to ensure downtime on production and packaging lines is reduced
- Complying with all company Health and Safety and hygiene rules

**Person Specification**

Essential:

- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial maintenance
- Welding experience
- Educated to at least City and Guilds level 3/ B Tech/ NVQ 3 or equivalent relevant experience.
- Practical approach to problem solving
- Full Drivers Licence

Desired:

- Good practical skillset
- Metalwork and fabrication experience
- General machine understanding

**Hours**

Monday to Thursday, 7:15 - 5:15

Friday 7:15 - 3:15

Saturdays as required (overtime rate) not compulsory

Total 43 hours per week
