**THE BUSINESS**

Robertshaws Garden Machinery part of the SHC group, was established in 1986, is now looking for a Mechanic to work on Garden machinery, Construction tools and Plant.

Robertshaws Garden Machinery has long been renowned in the local area as the go to specialist for service and repairs of all types of Garden Machinery.

With its recent incorporation into the SHC group they now also offer the hiring of plant, tools, and powered access to our local communities.

Operating from our depot network of 10 sites across Yorkshire, Cumbria & Lancashire, over 3,000 trade and public customers count on us to deliver quality equipment and expert advice every single day.

**THE ROLE**

Our Mechanics are integral to our customer experience; they ensure that all equipment we hire, service or repair for our customers is clean, compliant, and, most importantly, safe.

Our Mechanics work closely with the Depot Manager to ensure that equipment is service/repaired or prepared for hire efficiently to ensure we meet our customers' needs. This requires good communication skills and the ability to be flexible.

Whilst ordinarily based in one Depot, as part of the wider team, our Mechanics’ skills and experience may be deployed anywhere within the business to support the needs of our customers. All our Mechanics are ready to support other locations as required.

Our Mechanics must become experts on a variety of equipment, ranging from strimmer and Hedge cutters to Push and ride on mowers, Power and Hand tools to Diggers and Dumpers.

We offer a range of internal and external training courses to develop our Mechanics’ knowledge and expertise.

When starting at SHC Hire, we only ask that our Mechanics have an NVQ Level 2 in Plant Maintenance (or similar). We will also consider applicants with demonstratable experience in a previous role.

**PARTICULARS**
- Hours of Work: 7.30 am/5 pm Monday to Friday (alternate Saturday mornings 8 am/12 noon)
- Salary Range: £26,000 - £27,500 per annum depending upon experience (Saturday mornings are paid at time and a half)
- Holidays: 20 days plus Bank Holidays
- Sick Pay: After a qualifying period
- Birthday Holiday: After the qualifying period
- Free Breakfast
- Pension: Auto-enrolment Pension

**Salary**: £26,000.00-£27,500.00 per year
