**Statement**

Job title: The Wye Clinic - Clinical Support Worker

Responsible to: Lead Clinical Nurse

Responsible for: N/A

Job Purpose: As a key member of our clinical team, you will deliver a high standard of patient care and administrative duties within The Wye Clinic in both the outpatient clinic and the procedure room. Working under direct and indirect supervision of registered nurses, consultants, and medical staff you will be required after appropriate training to undertake and maintain competency in a range of skills such as taking patient observations, removal of dressings and post-operative nursing. You will contribute to the delivery of safe and efficient clinics ensuring patient dignity and confidentiality are respected. The ability to use your own initiative, multi
- task, and work under pressure are all essential. To at times provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others. To act as the first point of contact for patients contacting The Wye Clinic and to portray the Practice in the highest possible professional basis. To ensure that enquires from patients are efficiently and courteously handled to the mutual satisfaction of the Senior Management Team and patients.

**Main duties and responsibilities**

1. Assume responsibility for setting up portable medical and other equipment
2. Meet, greet, and reassure patients.
3. Maintain an overview of the outpatient clinic to ensure patients are seen on time and that clinic runs smoothly.
4. Ensure patients, families and carers are kept informed of any delays regarding their treatment, investigations, and clinic times in a professional manner.
5. Assisting the clinicians in sterile and non-sterile procedures e.g. positioning of patients, setting up trolleys and sterile equipment, act as a chaperone and assist during intimate procedures where required.

6. Maintain patient privacy and dignity for patients at all times and assisting patients with dressing and undressing where required.

7. Manual handling of patients and equipment in line with company policy.
8. Disposal of clinical, general and sharps waste in line with agreed policies and procedures.
9. Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment for patients, visitors and colleagues
