WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR AN EXPERIENCED PRESS OFFICER TO JOIN OUR COMMUNICATIONS TEAM ON A FIXED TERM CONTRACT.

As Press Officer you will secure and deliver quality media coverage across a range of national, international and consumer outlets, both print and digital, during Glyndebourne's flagship summer opera season, the Glyndebourne Festival.

Reporting to the Senior Press Manager, this role is instrumental to the planning, implementation and delivery of creative PR campaigns. Critical to success in this role will be strong organisational skills and the ability to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues across the Company.

The role requires the ability to hit the ground running with proven experience in press and PR campaigns, a proactive, enthusiastic approach and excellent working knowledge of the UK media. A solid background in the arts and good working knowledge of classical music and opera is highly desirable.

**Key Tasks & Responsibilities**
- Work closely with the Senior Press Manager to devise and deliver press and PR activity for the Glyndebourne Festival, contributing creative ideas and pitching for coverage. Work sensitively with Glyndebourne colleagues to deliver press and media activity, working within established guidelines and processes. Manage media enquiries within an efficient time frame, supporting and enhancing the reputation of Glyndebourne and the press office Manage the allocation and administration of press tickets to Glyndebourne Festival performances. Collaborate with other members of the communications team (comprising press, marketing, digital and audience insights) to ensure press and PR activity is integrated into the broader comms plan. Engage and maintain relationships with journalists and influencers across the media space. Prepare key press materials ahead of the opening of productions including press packs and production imagery. Provide full support on opening nights and other press events, with an understanding that out of hours and weekend work will be necessary during performance periods. Liaise with visiting artists for internal and external media and filming coverage. Take a share in all aspects of departmental administrative processes.

**Knowledge, Skills & Experience**

**ESSENTIAL**
- A solid background in pitching and securing quality coverage across a range of outlets and platforms Experience of managing relationships with national, local, industry and specialist media across a diverse range of outlets and platforms Ability to develop creative ideas and pursue new opportunities Excellent writing skills to create bespoke and compelling media content Ability to think creatively and reactively about content and story creation Experience of briefing interviewees on key messaging and approach Ability to report weekly on successes, challenges and opportunities A team player, committed to delivering on objectives with the ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities in busy periods.

**DESIRABLE**
- An interest in the arts including opera.

**Hours of Work** & Location**

This is a part time position with the contractual hours of work being 21 hours per week worked over 3 days, however you may be required to work additional hours to meet the demands of the role.

The main working location for this role will be on site at Glyndebourne. Occasional hybrid working (maximum one day per week) may be possible, dependent on what is required to successfully deliver the current workload. During the Festival period (16 May - 25 August), the post holder should expect to work on site at Glyndebourne the majority of the time.

Core working hours are 9.30am - 5.30pm. Out of hours and weekend work will be required, especially during the Festival period (16 May - 25 August).

**Salary & Benefits**

We can offer a salary of £21,175 (FTE £35,291) per annum.

We offer 5.6 weeks' holiday inclusive of bank holidays per annum pro rata, increasing to 6.6 weeks from April 2024.
