**Lead QA Engineer**

**Salary: Up to £55k**
Reporting to the Development Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that they continue to deliver the highest quality products to their high-profile global client base.
You will be directly involved in implementing and maintaining processes designed to
produce high-standard deliveries by leading a team of QA engineers.
As part of your role, you will play a key factor in the product version releases, providing
expert feedback with regard to what tests have been performed, and reporting back on
the outcome of testing, including known issues and the severity of issues found. Ultimately
concluding if a product is suitable to be released.
With a wealth of experience in software testing, you will need to set a high standard with
regard to how testing should be performed, ensuring the standard set is always adhered
to. leading by example, test plans should be well thought out and prepared in advance of
product releases.
Software such as TestRail should be utilised in order to continue to build a more robust test
plan, prepare for future product releases and report back to the business progress and
results of test plans. As part of this, you will be required to delegate upcoming work to the
QA engineers, keeping track of the team's current and future work, whilst being able to
report on the time spent on testing.
Using experience with automated testing software such as Selenium and being proficient
in at least one scripting language, you will also be responsible for integrating automated
testing into the standard product tests. You should be able to drive this forward,
providing guidance and leadership to the QA engineers, and outlining to the team best
practices, as well as enabling the team members to learn and be successful.
**Main Duties & Requirements**
? Lead the QA team and provide technical mentoring and support to enable a
high-performing team
? Implement automated testing, providing time for training and upskilling, as well as
facilitating the technical growth of the team
? Ensure that the QA team are all following the JIRA/TestRail workflow and process, and
that tickets are completed, tested and checked before being released.
? Work with the development teams to facilitate agile ceremonies, support the agile
process and enforce best practices
? Provide reporting for QA team capacity and metrics for the time & effort spent within
each key business area.
? Collaborating with business stakeholders and development teams to distil ideas into
concrete deliverables and provide valuable input from your expert point of view
? Working with the development team to define desired functionality and in turn
produce a robust test plan for upcoming product releases
? Staff appraisals and recruitment.
**? **Liaise with the customer support team to help identify customer issues and improve the
overall client experience.
**Skills & Requirements**
? Experience with managing and maintaining test cases using software such as TestRail
? Taking complex requirements and breaking them down into robust test cases
? Working experience with scripting languages (such as Python, Shell, Java ) producing
automated tested with software such as Selenium
? Working experience with Network monitoring utilities such as Charles and built-in web
browser extensions
? Experience with API testing, utilising software such as Postman
? Good appreciation of UI/UX and the ability to make decisions based on current
designs and what is best for the user
