We are seeking someone to work Part Time, 3 days a week although overtime may be available if you want it. We can do fixed days so you can work it around your existing routine. Permanent weekends are NOT available.

**Duties**:

- Conduct Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on various electrical equipment
- Identify any faults or defects in the equipment and take appropriate action
- Maintain accurate records of all PAT testing activities

**Experience**:

- PAT Testing qualified through City & Guilds 2377
- 1-year full time experience as a PAT Tester
- You need to be able to use a computer (and have your own computer or laptop), you'll also need access to a printer.
- Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle

**As our business grows we take on new PAT Testers/Engineers for our Newcastle based business.**

New staff need to be based in North Tyneside or Blyth to fit in with our existing team members, whom you will work directly with during training.

All new starters work with experienced team members for the first six months or until they are deemed to have passed probation and qualified as a PAT tester. You need to be local to them as they will drive you to and from jobs.

You will need to be able to drive and have a car when you start to work alone; company vehicles are not provided but we pay mileage and travel time.

We are seeking part time staff:

- Part time on 3 or 4 days per week (Sat to Thurs)
- There will be some weekends but not many

Wages start at Min wage for the first month, increasing to £11.00 per hour after initial training and £12.00 per hour when passed probation and qualified. Further performance based pay rises available - our current engineers earn in excess of £27,000 per annum, which is £4000.00 higher than the national average.

We don't have excessive targets like most PAT companies, and you are encouraged to thoroughly inspect and carry out repairs to appliances.

We don’t require our PAT engineers to be experienced, we will supply all the training you need. We will provide you with all the equipment that you need to do your job and branded uniforms.

The working day varies, but can be early starts and early finishes or late starts and later finishes - most days you should expect to be home by 4pm.

A day in the life of a PAT Tester/Engineer;
- Paid from the moment you get in the car until you get home, including mileage.
- Work at different places and meet new people almost every day
- Inspection and testing of portable and fixed electrical equipment
- Completing documents and required forms to report back on any faults found and work completed, and producing your own reports for clients.
- Representing DRA PAT Testing, offering positive customer service and being a face of the company.
- Full UK manual Driving License for a minimum of 12 months (Subject to insurance requirements), with a maximum of 6 points.
- Able to pass a DBS check - no criminal record.
- A smart, presentable appearance, friendly and able to work in a team and alone as required.
- The flexibility to work outside core 9-5 hours and be able to travel for work when needed.
- The mobility to work under desks and to spend long periods doing manual work.
- A desire to pursue a career within an electrical engineering role.
