**Main Purpose of Job**:
To provide support to the Procurement team and the wider organisation across the Glossop, Ecclesfield and Ickles locations. Assist the business in achieving the best total cost position for all external spend, identify the lowest sourcing risks, maximise supplier performances, and ensure highest efficiency and effectiveness of the organisations Procurement team.

**Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
- Executes on savings initiatives and initiates counter measures if necessary.
- Monitors and leads improvement in supplier performance.
- Participates in meetings with key suppliers.
- Contributes towards project management.
- Assists with management of inventory levels across the business.
- Responsible for various indirect and direct procurement activities.

**Goods and Services (Indirect)**
- Groundwork and preparation of tender documents for the supply of MRO / site services.
- Manage tender processes.
- Involvement in contract negotiation and management.

**Raw Materials (Direct)**
- Support the VIM Planning Manager to manage raw material inventory targets and support the melt plan.
- Liaise with the Supply Chain Manager to manage raw material inventory targets and support the production plan.
- _Booking into stock raw materials in accordance with company procedures _. _
- Forecast demand and raising the requests for purchase order generation.
- Ensures compliance to the business processes.
- Accountable for import activities for the business.
- Raising of purchase order requisitions.
- Cover for the Procurement Administrator.

**Knowledge**
- Awareness of manufacturing processes.
- Technical knowledge of the metals market would be advantageous.
- Full understanding of key business areas to include: Finance, Operations, Planning, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Quality.

**Aptitudes Required**
- Ability to meet deadlines by effectively prioritising your own workload.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Strong negotiator with good communication skills.
- First-rate IT skills with experience operating the Microsoft suite.**Experience**
- 3 years of previous work experience in a Procurement role in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the metals industry is an advantage.

**Qualifications**
- Holds or is working towards MCIPS.
