We are looking for a support position responsible for the Health and Safety, Facilities and Maintenance. Reporting directly to the Hospital Manager, this role will be responsible for ensuring the provision of all aspects of Health and Safety, building and equipment maintenance, security and IT systems to ensure delivery of a safe and efficient service to our clients/customers, associates and visitors.

**Main purpose & goals**

To protect the workforce, visitors, clients and business by ensuring compliance with H&S regulations and central policies/processes. To ensure equipment, building and facilities is fit for purpose with adhering to service schedules. Completing appropriate repairs within a timely manner to main excellent service for colleagues, clients and patients.

**Key responsibilities**

As Health and Safety/Facilities Lead you will be responsible for:

- Build, manage and develop relationships with associates, regularly listen regarding concerns around H&S and work collaboratively with the team leaders and SLT to ensure the hospital is safe.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of H&S policies and procedures. Ensure policies, processes, procedures, and arrangements are simple and efficient and can scale as the hospital grows.
- Working with team leaders and HR administrator reporting and investigating incidents, near misses and occupational health-related complaints within timescales and following policy requirements and internal processes.
- Carrying out (or ensuring the completion of) risk assessments as prescribed, identifying potential hazards and determining methods of reducing risks
- Working with central team H&S teams and team leaders ensure SOP’s and risk assessments are up to date and reviewed within the scheduled time frame.
- Ensure all colleagues are aware and familiar with the protocols to manage hospital facilities effectively including reporting and managing issues relating to facility usage, maintenance, safety and hygiene.
- Ensure that the building and its facilities are compliant with all H&S regulations including but not limited to:

- Weekly/monthly testing and audits
- Coordinating fire safety, including, system monitoring and fire evacuation drills
- Ensuring all formal risk assessments (Fire/Legionella/Asbestos/Noise) are actioned within three months of receipt and escalated as appropriate
- Monitoring and maintaining statutory compliance (Fire/PAT/EICRs/Gas/lifting Equipment /Pressure Systems etc.)
- Ensuring that equipment is installed correctly and safely and has appropriate servicing agreements in place
- Arrange servicing of equipment and machinery with mínimal impact to the day-to-day work
- Reporting emergencies (e.g. fires, no hot water) to the Health and Safety Team without delay
- Understand COSHH and update Sypol and local manuals when needed.
- Ensuring maintenance and equipment repair logs are maintained, and remedial works are undertaken promptly.
- Manage and update the asset register with guidance from the team leaders.
- Invoice approvals for works arranged.
- Regular reporting to the Hospital Manager and wider SLT regarding H&S challenges, concerns, solutions, and equipment repair costs.
- Complete any ad-hoc repairs such as desks or putting up shelves/notice boards.
- Running local health and safety meeting and attending central health and safety meetings as required
