Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk

Suttons Tankers are an innovative national tanker haulage business, that operates a nationwide road tanker fleet which has been successfully serving the chemicals, gas, fuels, waste, and powders sectors for over 60 years, and is the largest chemical transporter in the UK.

**We are looking for an experienced Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our team. You will be based at our Widnes office. This is a PERMANENT position.**

**The Role**:
To undertake processing and payment of supplier invoices, other sundry costs and expenses within the divisions. This is a challenging role which will ensure that all 3rd party purchase documents and intercompany billings are received, matched or queried and accurately processed on time from the companys National Suppliers whilst ensuring that control and security is maintained at all times.

**Essential Requirements**:

- To receive and process supplier invoices - all types. This will involve processing Invoices over several systems where appropriate and allocate costs to jobs.
- To ensure all invoices are logged in purchase ledger, either by system generated log or manual log before being sent to appropriate manager for authorisation.
- To liase with authorising managers to ensure timely signature of purchase orders.
- To ensure all invoices and orders are authorised in compliance with authority listing held within purchase ledger /sage.
- To provide copies of all invoices to Management accounts of invoices posted to balance sheet codes.
- To review and reconcile supplier statements, bringing any issues to the attention of the purchase ledger supervisor.
- To pro-actively resolve accounts queries in an efficient and timely manner.
- To process payment of supplier accounts under direction of the Purchase ledger supervisor if required.
- To comply with the accounting timetable.
- To ensure all processes are undertaken as agreed

- Commercial and business awareness
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
- Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints
