**Job Title: Senior Compliance Specialist**

**Location: UK Remote but can travel to sites when needed**

**Summary**:
Want to learn about Microbiology? Reporting to the Divisional GTC Director the successful applicant will join the GTC Team closely work with Supply Chain & Customer Service teams at multiple sites to support collation of the risk management and Trade Compliance for the Microbiology Division.

**Responsibilities**:
This position is responsible to lead, develop, implement, and coordinate the maintenance of internal import/export processes and controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with UK Government import/export regulations.

This role will ensure business has written, up-to-date work procedures to align with UK Trade regulations and the corporate Global Trade Compliance Manual System or GTCMS Work with senior leaders, directors, and corporate leaders across several departments (Transportation, Distribution, Customer services, Regulatory affairs and Quality) and several sites
- Knowledge of OneSource Trade Software and develop SOP's to support all UK Sites.
- Review all trade lanes for FTA including Preference for UK-European Union, UK-Turkey, UK-Egypt, UK-Switzerland, UK-Japan. Lead internal processes which permit participation in Free Trade Agreements (FTA).
- Ensure day-to-day monitoring of all trade activities of the business unit. Ensure that the export classification, HTS, and CofO of each item that may be exported is current and to maintain a database of classifications and update the brokers.
- Ensure that proposed transactions are screened for Denied Person and Entities, restricted end-uses, and diversion.
- Submit and/or audit all Customs submissions. Using the CDS reports from HMRC.
- Lead GTC data in material master of SAP & OneSource across all sites in the UK. To include but not limited to Harmonized Tariff and Country of Origin.
- Identify whether other Government agency requirements are applicable to product imports and exports (e.g. USDA, FCC, FDA, DEA, CBP, etc.).
- Interact effectively with multiple functional areas including management, supply chain, distribution, engineering, finance, IT and legal.
- Collaborate with carriers to assure compliance requirements and customers to ensure that their needs are met.
- Audit import entry filings; resolve discrepancies, request appropriate corrections, reconcile or protest as appropriate; verify valuation methodology including additions and subtractions such as assists and royalties.
- Participate in, develop and conduct training activities for individuals and groups pertaining to Trade regulations.
- Maintain required customs documentation according to UK and local law and corporate policy.
- Successfully communicates with suppliers to ensure they understand and carry out requirements for accurate importation of goods.

**Minimum Requirements/Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree preferred, Level 4 Certification in Advances Customs Compliance.
- Must be a self-starter who can take general concepts and direction and produce desirable results. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks functions optimally.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Strong quality background and problem analysis and decision-making skills.
- High attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills.

**Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria**:

- Solid overall experience with Import and Export functions, ideally in a manufacturing and distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of Trade Compliance, Harmonized Tariff Classification, OneSource Software and SAP.
- Presentation skills.
