We are responsible for the entire range of children’s education, health and social care services in all three boroughs. We are looking to appoint one full time Housing Project Worker to work within our supported accommodation based in New Malden.

About the role

We are looking for individuals who have excellent administration and communication skills, experience in building management and Health & Safety that can also relate well to young people.

The main duties of the role are:

- Ensure that Health & Safety compliance is adhered to throughout the building, maintenance issues and repairs are reported and work is carried out to a good standard, and voids are kept to a minimum.
- Ensure that regular Health & Safety checks of communal areas and equipment are completed & communal areas are regularly cleaned, issues are logged and actioned appropriately
- Reporting repairs, ensuring compliance works are carried out and dealing with contractors on site
- Stock ordering for cleaning supplies, stationery, furniture replacement
- Minimise void losses by packing rooms, helping young people move in and move out and carrying out deep clean and decoration of the flats/room when they become vacant
- Accurately recording the movements and activities of the young people

It also includes monitoring the cleanliness of the building, assisting with cleaning where required.
You will work closely with the Supported Accommodation Manager and key workers who are supporting the young people living in the accommodation.

About you

To be a Housing Project Worker for AfC you will be passionate about ensuring the day to day health and safety of children and young people in supported accommodation and able to demonstrate the following points:

- Good organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work accurately and flexibly and have a hands on approach to performing tasks
- An understanding of Health and Safety, safeguarding and equal opportunities
- Experience of keeping and maintaining records (in accordance with local policy)
- Experience and ability to undertake domestic tasks
