**Job Description - Underwriter/Credit Placement**

**The Company**

Moorgate Finance Ltd specialises in providing finance to support business growth, in a wide range of industry sectors including Motorsport, Construction, Retail, and Agriculture.

**The Role**

The Credit Placement Executive role is responsible for the relationship and placement of business with our Lending partners. You will need to be able to understand the lending criteria of a vast 70+ panel of banks and lenders and identify where the business presented by the sales team is best placed for the customer.

Interaction with banks and funding partners is required to build closer and lasting relationships. You will be representing the company with an understanding that we supply the funding market with millions of pounds of SME business every month.

The role is primarily focused on unsecured lending and asset finance, and knowledge of how to read accounts, management information, business forecasts, bank statements, etc, is desired. There can be an element of training to help an experienced underwriter, who may be used to operating with different markets or products, understand our specific of finance.

**Main Duties & Functions**

Assessing financial proposals from the sales team

Amending proposals and sending them promptly to the appropriate lender to improve acceptances and returns.

Speaking to lenders on the telephone and in-person as required to perform the role

Negotiating with our lending partners to secure the best terms for our customers

Maintaining accurate records of proposals via our CRM system

Helping hit company targets and increase revenue

Controlling where the volume of our business is placed in the funding market

Developing relationships with partners to grow our business relationships

Looking to develop financial products and communicate these with the sales team to increase our customer offering

Ability to use Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, specifically: creating spreadsheets, populating spreadsheets, sorting and filtering data within a spreadsheet

Ability to use internet search engines

**Qualifications**

There are no minimum educational qualifications required, although a Grade C for GCSE English Language and Maths is preferred.

**Working Conditions**

Using Display Screen Equipment

Sitting for extended periods

Using the telephone with either a handset or headset

Occasional travel to meet clients, suppliers, and lenders, plus other promotional activities

**Salary**

£28,000-£32,500 depending on experience.
