**Overall Job Purpose**

To oversee and manage delivery across all Corporate Actuarial functions, including reserving, technical actuarial work, Solvency II, business planning, valuation calculations, reinsurance arrangements and legacy valuations. In addition to drive investigations to provide new and valuable insights into profitability whilst managing the workload of the Actuarial Reporting team.

**Accountabilities**

The individual will report to the Head of Corporate Actuarial and will have the VitalityHealth Actuarial Reporting team consisting of two mid-level students and one junior student reporting to them.

The individual will have responsibility for delivery of the key reporting processes of the team as well as driving forward investigations into items such as profitability and claims trends to deliver relevant actuarial insight for the business. This will require managing the workloads across a number of processes as well as working closely with other team members to ensure cohesion alongside timely delivery. The key tasks for this role are
- Completing the valuation of VitalityHealth, including recommending assumption changes and working with the audit and governance teams. Tracking and advising on current and expected experience variances relative to the assumptions and the implications for profitability.
- Driving delivery of the monthly claims reserving process whilst working with peers across pricing, clinical analysis and data science to translate these investigations into actions for the business.
- Delivering all Solvency II reporting, including recommending assumption changes within technical provisions and working with the audit and governance teams. This includes capital planning, pillar 2 assessments and the annual ORSA reporting.
- Translating recent trend and experience data into profitability insights to support the business in achieving strategic objectives.
- Driving the business plan projections including detailed investigations into trends and experience whilst working with peers across pricing, clinical analysis and data science to translate these investigations into actions for the business.

**Skills Required**:
Essential
- Qualified Actuary (Fellow) with at least 3 years post qualification experience
- Previous experience managing a number of students
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong capabilities with coding such as SQL to help develop the teams skills
- Excellent presentation skills
