**Job description**:

- The focus of the DIO Engagement Advisor role is to drive the improvement of the employee experience of our people. It involves using engagement insights to move the conversation about employee engagement beyond survey results and to embed actions into business planning. The role holder requires the drive, agility and tenacity to make things happen, balancing business demands, adapting quickly to changes in the environment and solving problems through a can-do attitude. The role holder will help shape and deliver DIO's recognition approach, driving a recognition culture where the giving and receiving of recognition is timely, prevalent and meaningful. The Engagement Advisor will have the knowledge of what motivates, engages and retains employees and will use this to shape engagement activities in line with local and pan-DIO business requirements.**Person specification**:
The responsibilities of the DIO Engagement Advisor include:

- 1. Development & Delivery of the People Survey- Deliver the DIO element of the MOD People Survey, working in partnership with our internal and cross government stakeholders to ensure on time delivery
- Manage, monitor and support uptake in the DIO People Survey, influencing customers and communicating with impact to ensure its value is understood
- Be the focal point and answer all questions in relation to the administration of the People Survey
- Develop all supportive material to help the Survey run smoothly, credibly and with purpose
- Lead on the analysis of the People Survey and the provision of reports working closely with colleagues in Data to make insights meaningful and impactful
- Communicate the People Survey findings to the different audiences across DIO
- 2. Management of local engagement action planning- Coordinate and manage the local engagement action planning activity across DIO
- Implement, manage and monitor the progress of the local business area action planning process and ensure effective action plans are in place to address local needs
- Use insights to advise and suggest improvements in action plans
- Maintain and develop DIO’s Engagement Champion Network, ensuring it is valued and respected as a force for change
- Create cross DIO collaborative networks to help improve the way Engagement is done locally, sharing best practice and breaking down silo activities
- 3. Support to the DIO Engagement Champion network- Maintain and develop DIO’s Engagement Champion Network, ensuring it is valued and respected as a force for change
- Own the Engagement Champions Terms of Reference
- Lead on the programme of meetings and events for the Engagement Champion network
- Support the Engagement Champion network, developing productive working partnerships based on trust, empathy and understanding, listening to the feedback on the experience of DIO staff
- Define and lead the Engagement Champions to deliver against a common purpose, providing feedback and expertise to challenge ideas and create step change through the power of the group
- Help ensure the right governance and processes are in place to enable the Engagement Champions
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement by sharing best practice and ideas across the Engagement Champion Network
- Develop Engagement Champions through appropriate coaching and challenge to support local engagement needs
- 4. Support to deliver DIO's Recognition Strategy- Deliver elements of the DIO Recognition Strategy
- Implement the DIO Excellence Awards including the nomination process, preparation of judging packs, oversee the certificate process and support recognition events
- Embed a recognition toolkit for DIO staff to improve in the moment recognition, monitor its uptake, embed it into people processes and ensure content remains relevant
- Interpret trends and insights from the People Survey to ensure DIO’s approach remains in-line with employee needs
- Support the development of DIO's approach to rewarding long term
