Church Administrator

We are looking for a friendly and capable administrator to support our Priest and Churchwardens in the running of our three Churches. Confidentiality, integrity and empathy are essential qualities in all your dealings.

You will need a good level of written English and strong IT skills. You will often be the first point of contact for those wishing to arrange baptisms, weddings and funerals or to hire church premises.

Your responsibilities include:

- Coordinating aspects of building maintenance
- Coordinating hiring groups
- Being the first point of contact for enquiries from the general public
- Preparing social media posts
- Maintaining a database of address records, including electoral roll, users of the church
- Leading on compliance in the parish for implementation of data protection
- Dealing with enquiries about parish records and registers
- Managing the process of handling cash and sending information to the Treasurer to enable preparing and reconciling banking sheet;
- Maintaining electronic and paper financial records in conjunction with the Treasurer for the Parish Council Committee

It’s a varied role, so we’ll need you to:

- Be experienced in administration, diary management, event organisation and
coordinating people
- Be a multi-tasker and super organised - you must be able to manage your own
workload, prioritise and be flexible
- Be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher and basic website updating
