This role is only open to applicants aged between 18-25 years old.

This is a flexible position for varying hours - up to 10 hours a month.

Are you passionate about working with young people and speaking up about mental health experiences?

This is an exciting role within our Children and Families Mental Health Function to support and advocate the views of Children and Young people across South Staffordshire to influence and champion the priorities and decisions made in relation to Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service delivery.

Ensuring the voices of experts by experience are reshaping, co-producing and influencing services to improve the experience of young people accessing services.

The young advisor role is instrumental in ensuring that the voices and experience of young people, who have used or are interested in improving and shaping Mental Health services, are heard and listened to. This role will ensure that participation and feedback influence the future delivery and design of service development.

This role will lead on engaging children and young people across service to share their experiences, ideas and thoughts are considered at all levels, and that they are fully represented in local service improvement projects.

Co-producing and co-delivering training, or materials for mental health workers based on young people’s views and experiences of using services.

Working with local partnerships and other colleagues working within Mental Health Services to inform what is needed to improve services.

Visiting groups, forums, and services across South Staffordshire to offer your support and advice.

Planning locality wide partnership workshops and events.

Speaking at events as experts on participation and on sharing the experiences of young people

To attend formal events.

Working together with peers to develop and review resources.

To participate in trust training.

Attending strategic meetings to make sure young people’s views are heard.

Chairing or co-chairing meetings, with support if this is needed.
