Senior QA Games Tester

As part of the QA Department, you are critical to the development of our games, and at Coatsink, we place enormous value on the detail and quality of our products, we therefore place a great deal of value on the work of the QA team.

Your role, and that of the wider team is to find inconsistencies and bugs in the game experience. You will lead and oversee the testing activity document, monitor and report on project milestones, and work with the development team to ensure the quality of the game ready for release.

At a senior level in the department, you are responsible for leading the testing of a given project. You will be required to work with the production and development team and be responsible for direct testing and allocating designated resources (people) to meet project deadlines. You will be responsible for compliance testing when required, as well as build sign-offs and production of daily reports. You will oversee, mentor and guide the other members of the team.

**Responsibilities & Tasks**
- Testing titles as designated.
- Leading and overseeing the testing of a title in accordance with production demands.
- Creating efficient bug reports and clear, concise reproduction steps for developers.
- Having a clear understanding of the bug database and status of the project.
- Creating and running test plans, as well as reviewing created test plans.
- Updating production and the QA Manager about build status and project milestones.
- Communicating with the team about known issues and progress on them.
- Setting up JIRA dashboards and filters for testing on a project.
- Producing documentation on Confluence of all required QA processes, as well as titles as and when required - standards for QA processes.
- Working with production and QA Manager to improve current testing procedures
- Working directly with developers regarding issues and providing practical support.
- Tracking stable builds through daily smoke tests.
- Creating reports for build sign-offs and daily reports for production.
- Assisting with the training, coaching and direction of less experienced colleagues when required.
- Any other reasonable duty assigned to you that is line with your skills, knowledge and ability.

**Person Specification**

**Senior QA Games Tester**

Experience
- It is likely that to undertake this role effectively, you will have at least 5 years of exposure within the QA function of the games or a similar industry at a mid-level.
- Significant experience of using and testing on multiple platforms such as PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X. VR experience desired but not essential.
- Relevant Compliance testing experience.
- Multiplayer and cross-platform games testing experience.
- Solid game specific documentation experience.
- Some experience of developing test plans and documentation.
- Working with development software and hardware.
- Working in an agile environment.
- Developing for VR.
- Compliance testing experience on major platforms.

Education
- Games related degree level education or equivalent experience

Knowledge
- Solid knowledge of platform SDKs and software used in the process of testing on various hardware.
- Extensive knowledge of bug tracking software, such as JIRA.
- An understanding of the importance of timely information sharing.
- An understanding of the game development process and how issues occur.
