- You will offer Housing Options and Homeless service providing advice, support, and guidance, meeting the agreed timescales and legislative requirements. Your responsibilities will include identifying causes of potential homelessness, and providing tailored solutions to prevent it, working proactively with several departments and organizations. You will keep abreast of all current housing and benefit’s legislation and place families and individuals in appropriate temporary accommodation. Assisting with mortgage-related issues, negotiating on clients' behalf, liaising with children’s department for homeless families, direct work with clients via home visits are also a part of the role. You will also conduct a full investigation into the causes of unsuccessful tenancy/mortgage, offer budgeting and money management advice, and carry out housing surgeries throughout the borough. Financial negotiations and strategic and resource management are also key components of the role. You will prepare court documentation for housing hearings and appeals and will make critical decisions in accordance with Homeless Legislation.
