We supply 280 million litres of drinking water per day to 1.4 million people and 50,000 businesses via our distribution network of 12,116 km of water mains and 311 service reservoirs and water towers.

**What you'll do**:
To ensure that drinking water stored in our tanks and water towers meets required water quality standards, the Reservoir Surveyor manages and carries out internal condition inspections of our asset portfolio.

Observations and maintenance inspections are recorded in a condition report, available for audit and scrutiny by the drinking water regulator.

Reporting to the team manager and working alongside a team of six, you will work stakeholders in our operations department.

Responsibilities include:

- structural survey of service reservoirs and treatment process tanks
- producing detailed reports of completed surveys within required timescales
- assessing risks found for health and safety, water quality, compliance and serviceability
- clearly communicating any immediate high-risk issues to senior management
- ensuring that company records are updated and amended including asset information, photographs, GIS and site schematics
- making recommendations for remedial/repair works and providing technical assistance to construction/maintenance teams
- assisting and supporting team activities
- deputising for the team manager during leave.

**What you'll need**:
To be successful you will have a safety-first approach, be highly motivated and comfortable working using your own initiative.

You will be a natural problem solver and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.

You will be a good people manager, able to liaise and communicate across all levels of the business and ensure all our work is safely delivered on time.

You will have experience of:

- IT competence including Excel and Word
- report writing
- technical and risk assessment
- working in confined spaces, including holding/leading an authorised person
- NC-level education or equivalent experience in the water industry

Due to the nature of this role, it is essential you hold a valid driving licence and can work in confined spaces and at height.
