**Location**:Stoke Gifford, Bristol

We are looking for a Full-Time nursery-based Kitchen Assistant to join our Bright Horizons Woodpeckers nursery.

The stunning setting is Ofsted rated good, and benefits from excellent transport links, including a close by bus stop and Filton Abbeywood train station is a short walk away. Onsite parking is available. It is also close by to several local amenities including a shopping centre and supermarket. Our 135-place nursery is spread across 6 rooms, each with its own free flow garden area.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Keep the kitchen a clean and safe environment, adhering to internal and external requirements
- Support the Chef in the preparation and cooking of age-appropriate food for all the children, on a daily basis, with mínimal food wastage
- In the absence of the Chef, take responsibility for the running of the kitchen.
- Take responsibility to make sure all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to the teams
- Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding procedures and policies are followed at all times
- Support the Chef to ensure budgetary requirements are met, and stock levels are suitably managed and recorded
- Work in partnership with the nursery team and parents, to encourage a healthy and nutritious diet
- Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment on a day-to-day basis

**What we’re looking for**
- Previous experience within a role which involves cooking or working in a kitchen within a domestic or commercial property
- Passion for nutrition, and inspiring
- Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - this must be passed on day 1 in post
- Sound knowledge of COSHH
- Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of managing different dietary requirements, particularly food allergies
- Great communication skills, with both colleagues, children, and parents
- Ability to work under pressure

**Salary**: £21,673.60-£22,838.40 per year
