ROLE: NPI Project Manager

LOCATION: Cambridge, UK or Aachen, Germany

SALARY: Negotiable

DURATION: Permanent

You will be responsible in ensuring that our next generation systems can be smoothly brought into and installed into the customer facility, as well as the timely resolution of issues found when our next generation systems are then operated at customer sites.You will bring back valuable customer feedback of these new systems to the internal development team. The ultimate goal is to obtain product maturity at a number of key customers at the conclusion of the NPI phase.

Objectives and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for all aspects of the NPI phase from initial project planning, preparation for introducing the system into a customer site, ensuring technical issues are resolved during qualification, scheduling (including parts and manpower), cost estimates,risk management and escalation where needed.
- Project manage and lead inter-department, multidisciplinary teams through the NPI phase.
- As the central point of contact, communicate regularly with the regional teams and customer. This will also necessitate regular international travel to designated customer sites and to company sites.
- Working to qualification milestones and deadlines, you will be responsible for the successful acceptance (both hardware and process) of new products at defined customer sites including supporting any joint development programs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the product as well as processes and approaches used to manage NPI.
- Prepare reports and presentations on a regular basis to keep stakeholders at all levels, including the AIXTRON's Executive Board, informed of progress.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering discipline or equivalent
- At least 3 years background in the semiconductor equipment or scientific instrument industry
- A strong project management background, preferably with a PM qualification

Desirable Experience:

- Experience of semiconductor processing (e.g. III/V)

Essential Skills:

- Proficient in project management methodologies, process and tools
- Must be methodical, logical and precise
- Strong communication and document writing skills
- Works well as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Exhibit initiative, working with autonomy, and be able to take responsibility
- Ability to manage a varied workload in an efficient manner
- Strong problem solving skills with a hands-on approach
- Microsoft Office proficient
