**Teaching Assistant for Year 1 Pupil with Learning and Emotional Needs**

**Position**: Teaching Assistant - part time (2 days)

**Location**: Small village school in rural setting between Tiverton and Crediton

**Start Date**: ASAP

**Working Hours**: 8:30 am to 3:15 pm, Monday to Friday

**Pay**: £85 to £90 per day, paid weekly

**Contract Duration**: Long-term basis until at least May half-term with the opportunity to become a permanent team member.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one support to a Year 1 pupil with additional learning needs, including academic and emotional support.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
- Adapt and modify teaching materials and resources to meet the specific needs of the pupil.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, encouraging their participation and engagement in class activities.
- Monitor and track the pupil's progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
- Assist with classroom management, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other teaching assistants and school staff to promote a holistic approach to the pupil's development.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with young children with additional learning needs is essential.
- A patient and nurturing approach, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with the pupil.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents.
- A car driver, as the school is in a rural setting with limited public transportation options.
