DEEP is accelerating deep sea exploration and preservation through the development of new technologies which enable humans to operate for longer periods of time underwater.
Our planet's oceans hold answers to some of the most significant challenges facing humanity today, and yet they are almost completely unknown and unexplored. Ocean exploration is extraordinarily difficult and expensive, and current technologies only enable humans to safely access these remote areas of the planet for minutes at a time, highly restricting research and understanding. At DEEP, our mission is to radically open up access to the oceans through pioneering new technologies. These will empower scientists and researchers to fully understand the impact of our current way of life on the oceans, and find new ways for us to protect our seas, their inhabitants and ourselves.
We are an expert team of highly experienced engineers, operations and safety experts, with a funding model that allows us the freedom to think long term and pursue our mission without traditional restraints. We want to drive progress at the forefront of deepsea innovation and discovery in order to become stewards of the oceans and reshape our relationship with our planet.
As a 2D Graphic Designer at Deep, you'll be joining a small and effective in-house Creative Studio. Working with talented designers, artists, copywriters, developers and producers, you'll help tell rich and nuanced stories about our oceans.
Utilising your skill for information architecture - and your eye for typography, layout, and detail - you'll turn loose briefs and complex source material into beautiful, refined and concise physical and digital collateral, including:
- Sharp, consistently formatted documents and publications.
- Easy-to-understand diagrams, drawings, icons and infographics.
- Highly visual presentation decks.
- Elegant and user-friendly online media.
- Clear and functional digital signage and physical wayfinding.
- Large-format prints, displays and projections.
- Smart and practical branded clothing and workwear designs.
- Mission-specific concept art and identity design.
- And much, much more
By joining our new and growing team, you'll:
- play a key role in developing workflows
- be instrumental in setting the quality standard for the entire organisation
- get involved from concept through delivery and across all areas of the organisation.
- communicate well within the team
- need great organisation and self-management skills.
