We operate a number of Care Homes and Sheltered Housing schemes throughout the UK and are able to deliver care tailored to individual needs from low support through to residential, nursing and specialised care, including dementia. At our home in Swansea we have an opportunity for an exceptional Cook to join us on a part time basis to work alongside our team of experienced kitchen staff.

Working alongside the kitchen team, on a day to day basis you’ll promote high quality of life for our residents by providing a consistently excellent mealtime experience and creating diverse and exciting dishes. You’ll strive to meet each resident's personal needs, choices and preferences through the development of varied menu plans and a balanced, nourishing, appetising and attractive diet. You’ll liaise with the Care Team to ensure meals meet residents medical requirements, ensuring that such meals are prepared using the appropriate methods and in the correct environment. Additionally you’ll lead a small team of kitchen staff to achieve consistently high standards. You’ll provide effective staff supervisions and appraisals, treating each occasion as a valuable communication opportunity and identify staff training needs. You’ll lead your team dynamically and effectively manage communications out of the kitchen to the residents and staff alike.

To be successful in this role you’ll:

- Have a Level 2 or above in Food Hygiene
- Be a good leader and hands on in the running of the kitchen
- The ability to communicate and involve both residents and colleagues in kitchen activities
- A good respect for diversity and individuality
- A genuine interest in and/or experience of working with the relevant Client group
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with colleagues, residents and suppliers alike
- Have a passion for your job and be an approachable leader
- Fully IT literate

In return we offer a competitive salary, free parking onsite, full support, induction and training will be given to you to allow you to carry out your day to day work. This includes regular mandatory training as well as other training opportunities for your own development and to enable innovation within the kitchen.

**Salary**: £11.56 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
