Your main responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing field and laboratory experiments to address questions about climate, land use change and terrestrial biogeochemical cycles- Delivery of GHG/Carbon flux measurements (e.g., GHG chambers, soil coring, eddy covariance)- Compilation and statistical analysis of arising data from field/lab observations and experiments- Publication and presentation of results in high impact journals and conferences- Collaboration with researchers and stakeholders in the UK and internationally

For the role of Soil and Ecosystem Scientist, we’re looking for somebody who has:
- A PhD in biogeochemistry or environmental/physical sciences, with a multidisciplinary approach- Knowledge and understanding of ecosystem processes controlling the exchange of carbon and GHG’s between the land and the atmosphere- Knowledge and/or experience of eddy covariance techniques with an aptitude to develop technical skills through training- Experience in statistical methods for data analysis and handling, using R or similar- Experience of plant and soil biogeochemical analyses- A track record of relevant publications in peer reviewed journals consistent with career stage- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with an inclusive and collaborative approach- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail- A full UK or equivalent (manual) driving licence to access remote field sites - please confirm on your CV

Desirable skills:
