**Patient Care Assistant (PCA) (with some reception duties)**
**Overview**
**Specific responsibilities**
- Maintaining the **overall cleanliness** of the practice including clinical and non-clinical areas.
- Handling/set up of specialist veterinary equipment.
- Assisting nurses with daily cleaning tasks.
- Assisting reception team with daily cleaning tasks.
- Following practice hygiene protocols.
- Part of the role will be dedicated to Reception/Administration Duties.
- Assisting with stock level maintenance.
**Patient care**
You will be required to help with general patient care such as;
- **Pre and post operative care inc theatre duties and kennel management.**
- Handling pets for routine examination or sample collection.
- Grooming, walking and caring for in-patients, ensuring that you are aware of individual needs as well as species/breed considerations related to this.
- **Be a good communicator.**
- Be motivated and help contribute to the smooth running of the day.
- Be active in maintaining the **hygiene standards** of the practice.
- Be aware of their integral role within the team in meeting our professional commitments to our clients.
- **Be friendly** and have a desire to work within a progressive, busy team.
- Contribute to the team in a positive way.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Be able to use practice software IT systems efficiently.
- Be willing to learn and develop.

**Salary**: £23795.20 per annum (NMW)
40 hour week
8.30am till 6.30pm over 4 days Monday to Friday (including 1 in 4 Saturdays 8.30-12.30pm) with half hour lunch break
