This is a great opportunity for an CompEx Inspector/Electrician to join a growing, market leading OEM of sophisticated process instrumentation for high profile customers in all industries. The company continues to grow their operation as they win more lucrative contracts.

Travelling within the UK this role is to provide safe, proactive, flexibility and will predominantly incorporate new installations, rectification work & CompEX (ATEX) Inspections. The role will sometimes be split to assist with shut down work and instrumentation installation which could require long shift patterns.

Applicants should have a time served apprenticeship or equivalent training and suitable supporting qualifications. Possession of CompEx is essential.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate industrial experience from the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Metals Processing, Ceramic, Aerospace, Utility or similar industry sectors.

**The successful CompEx Electrician day to day duties will include (but not limited to)**:

- Instrumentation installations, commissioning, onsite ATEX inspections and remedial repairs.
- Liaise with the internal office and with other staff.
- Liaise with customers to advise estimated time of arrival and of any delays which may be anticipated
- Adhere to site safety rules, permit to work systems, carry out risk assessments and method statements.
- Work to local and industry procedures and to comply with industry codes of practice and company quality management system
- Provide timely and accurate job reporting in accordance with company service report forms
- A requirement of overnight stays within the UK - dependant on job location, duration and engineer to site travel time.
- Occasional requirement to work abroad.

**To be suitable for this role you must have the following experience / characteristics**:

- Be willing to travel and spend nights away from home
- Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level
- Ideally will have completed a relevant apprenticeship
- Problem solving and diagnostic skills
- CompEX (ATEX) Inspections
- Highly self-motivated and have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- A flexible approach to working activities
- Excellent Communication skills, both verbally and written
- The ability to develop good working relationships with customers
- Good organisational skills, excellent punctuality and timekeeping
- Full UK driving licence

**The ideal applicant will have**:

- HNC in a relevant engineering discipline
- Previously worked in a service / on-site role
- Experience of Instrumentation and Process Measurement techniques
- A home location within one-hour commute to Macclesfield
