Casual Refuse Collector

We are seeking to recruit 15 casual employees to our Waste and Recycling Team. We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individuals, to assist in the delivery of waste collection, within a very high-profile service.

The work can be varied and interesting and it is essential that you can appreciate the important contribution these services have in improving our local environment and the image of the area. You must possess good communication skills and be a quick learner, undertaking tasks with a minimum of supervision. You will be required to work both as part of a team and on your own. You will work in adverse weather conditions, and you will handle waste and recycling.

Lancaster City Council has unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.
