We are looking for an Therapy Assistant to take up this role within the Orthopaedics and Surgery Therapy team working in Scunthorpe General Hospital.

This team sees a range of acute patients within the hospital wards and is involved in the acute rehabilitation of patients and ensuring safe discharge plans are in place to enable the patient moves out of the hospital setting.

The focus of the role is to assess and support individuals to facilitate safe discharge home from the hospital. Interventions can therefore include a range of assessments and rehabilitation activities, assistive equipment, assessment for equipment, advice and information sharing.

Excellent communication skills are required to ensure a collaborative approach to patient care from the multidisciplinary team involved.

The purpose of the post is to provide a high standard of therapy service working under the supervision of registered Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
