This is a perfect post for an experienced estates professional who is aiming to progress to a director post in the near future.

The Associate Director of Estates and Facilities will lead an ambitious estates and facilities management function and be responsible for ensuring that the Trust’s entire estate portfolio is managed safely, effectively and within statutory requirements. You will work closely with our PFI partners and will need to bring personal and visible leadership to managing this relationship.

The post holder will formulate, develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures, including risk management, on all of the aspects of the estate and facilities to ensure the Trust minimises risk and manages the whole range of functions in the most effective manner in accordance with legislation and national standards in conjunction with other outside bodies.

Through the professional estate management function the post holder will establish and support the management of protocols for the safe and effective performance of all building services, plant, equipment, structures and fabric to meet the Trust’s strategic goals including Board Assurance.

The post holder will provide senior level oversight and support to all estates and Facilities teams within the Trust and cover in times of absence for the Director of Estates and Facilities (UHCW).

The Associate Director of Estates & Facilities will provide key support in a number of strategically important areas for the Estates and facilities function, not only for UHCW but also across the Coventry and Warwickshire ICS.
Working to the Director of Estates and Facilities, the post holder will steer the development and implementation of the Trust’s and the STP’s Estates and Facilities services, providing advice on all property and support services matters to the Executive Leadership to deliver a high quality service in line with the STP’s strategic direction, vision and values.

The post holder will take line management responsibility for departments that fall under the remit of Estates and Facilities i.e. hard & soft FM, capital projects, PFI contract performance management and energy.

The post holder will ensure the development and acceptance of challenging but realistic performance and quality objectives, through leadership, motivation and performance management to achieve required results.

The post holder will provide advice in respect of the Trust’s and the wider ICS Estates and Facilities staffing resource needs in conjunction with the strategic goals, and to ensure that longer term staffing needs, skills and personnel are built into a recruitment and retention strategy.

The post holder will ensure within the line management structure that the Personal Development Plan process and the Knowledge and Skills Framework is undertaken for all Estates & Facilities staff, and that robust systems are in place for this continued monitoring and updating.
