**Production Planner**

**Every site needs a good Production Planner. You make sure things happen when they’re meant to, items are in the location they need to be, at the right time, and you generally act as the glue holding things together.**

**We’re looking for someone to do this, acting as the link between commercial and the plant.**

You’ll be working for **Saint-Gobain PAM Building in Telford**. PAM Building is the premier supplier of cast iron products to the UK's construction market, as well as supplying customers globally.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
You’ll be responsible for scheduling the production & purchasing resale products to ensure optimal levels and meet the customer’s needs. You will be the link between commercial and the plant, to ensure the customers receive their products on time while keeping stocks in line with the days of sales target.

Some of the duties will include;
- Producing a manufacturing plan for each area of the plant
- Ensuring bills of materials, safety stocks and planning parameters for all key products accurately represent the needs of the business on an on-going basis and that they are regularly reviewed
- Purchasing resale items (and certain component parts) from suppliers and finding better suppliers where suitable. Maintaining a good working relationship with suppliers and ensuring invoices queries are dealt with in a speedy and professional manner
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to ensure sustainability and minimise manual intervention
- Scheduling work with sub-contractors, ensuring service levels are maintained and stocks are optimised
- Ability and confidence, when necessary, to challenge production, make decisions and complete root cause analysis

- Experience in a Production Planner role, ideally in a manufacturing/heavy engineering environment, although we’re open on industry
- MRP system experience (ideally SAP)
- Given the nature of the role, excellent organisational skills are required
- Ability to adapt quickly to change, in an environment that can be unpredictable and often reactive
