A leading insurance firm based in Bolton is on the lookout for their next **Desktop Engineer **to join their versatile and dynamic IT team where you will be providing a high level of service and support to the internal staff around buildingand configurating IT equipment.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Receive and handle new desktop / laptop computers and prepare for build
- Ensure all replacement devices are working correctly before user sign off
- Escalate any build issues to 3rd line team or Team Lead
- The ability to think logically, meet deadlines and effectively prioritise workload according to the needs of the customers and SLA’s
- Excellent listening and questioning skills combined with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders and employees

**Skills and experience required for the role**:

- Previous experience of working in an IT support environment
- SCCM or anything similar for imaging/software deployment
- Knowledge of Windows platforms
- Understanding of PC hardware diagnosis, set-up and configuration
- Flexible approach and a willingness to learn
- Previous experience of working in a regulated business will be beneficial but not essential
