As a Kitchen Assistant, you are at the heart of our operation, and we are looking for individuals who share our energy and passion and will contribute to our ongoing success.

We serve approximately 100 covers per day which include our children and Staff

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
**Duties to include**:

- Cleaning the kitchen, including washing kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls
- Carrying out basic food preparation tasks
- Ensuring the school cooks are equipped with the food and tools they need.
- Helping the school cooks get ready for service by preparing food. Kitchen assistants will be expected to peel, trim or wash food so it is ready to be cooked
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher
- Helping to serve meals
- Cleaning of the dining room, its surround and furniture
- Cleaning of any areas related to the provision of the Catering Service
- Maintain a standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the day
- Be aware of accidents/hazards prevention at all times
- Follow instruction in regard to personal hygiene and standard of uniform and appearance

**Person Specification**:

- Must have relevant experience in school kitchen or equivalent fast paced environment.
- Pro-active with the ability to work unsupervised
- Good communications skills to effectively communicate with our children in a SEMH school.
- Upbeat with positive attitude
- Level 2 Food Hygiene or equivalent (not essential training provided)

**Salary**: £13,381.50 per year

**Experience**:

- Catering: 1 year (preferred)
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
- Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)
