We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant Continence Assessor who will work as a part of the Community nursing service undertaking continence assessments for our housebound patients on Community Nursing Caseload.
- Are you a Healthcare Assistant with an interest in continence who wants to work in a busy specialist area, with a keen interest in Bladder and Bowel? You need to have a can-do attitude and experience of working with and assessing patients with bladder and or bowel dysfunction.
- This post offers the chance to develop skills and knowledge within Bladder and Bowel care whilst being supported by team members. You will be working independently within patient's homes providing continence assessments and liaising with the Continence Advisory Team on a regular basis. There will be a lot of support to achieve the necessary skills and knowledge before you work and assess independently.

Interviews to be held 9th June 2023
- Assist the Community Nursing Service in achieving a high standard of care that promotes the health and wellbeing of patients in their own home.
- Recognise the needs of family/carers: give them encouragement and support and ensure their concerns are reported promptly.
- Show respect about the dignity of all patients/carers and acknowledge the privilege of working in the home environment.
- Report any accidents or incidents of any kind to the nurse in charge promptly.
- Respect the confidential aspects of his/her work and not divulge information gained about patients/carers to any unauthorised person or authority.
- Work as a member of the Community Nursing Team, contributing to the overall work of the team within the boundaries of their role and attend meetings as required.
- Attend and keep a record of all mandatory and other training as agreed with nurse in charge, taking responsibility for Appraisal and Personal Development.
- Participate in Clinical Supervision and show evidence of Reflective Practice.
- Ensure accurate collection of Data as per Trust Policy.
- Have basic IT skills.
- Communicate effectively and clearly both orally and in written form.
- Participate in clinical duties when assessed as competent to perform those duties.
- Prioritise workload appropriately with due regards to the requirements of patients/ carers and the District Nursing Teams.
- Be responsible for ordering and maintaining stock and continence equipment.

**The “must haves” for you to be considered for this role**:  
- NVQ 2 or Equivalent experience in healthcare setting.
- Must have an interest in continence/Bladder and Bowel.
- Ability to demonstrate the needs of patient/client with long term conditions
- Must have a UK Driving Licence and have a Car for work purpose.
