I am working with a well-established steel fabricator in Leeds, they are looking for a Design Manager to join their team. The Design Manager will be responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of steel structures. The role is varied, my clientswork on a vast number of projects ranging from small projects and massive multi million pound projects. They work in a variety of different sectors, including, infrastructure, commercial, retail, arts, sports, museums and exhibitions, as well as bridges andartworks.It is an excellent opportunity to work for an award winning business and this role could progress into a director role within 2 years. It is essential for the Design Manager to have the capability of progressing to a director level role. The DesignManager should be a Chartered (or near Chartered) Structural Engineer and must also have experience working in design drawing office environments. The Design Manager will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the company’s design and drawing officeactivities on a wide variety of projects. The Design Manager will be the primary interface between client’s, engineers and architects on all design matters. The Design Manager is required to coordinate all drawing office activities to ensure that the modellingand the drawings are prepared in accordance with company’s procedures, the contract programme and within the project cost plan. This position is office based, the Design Manager will be required to work at the office 5 days a week.
**Requirements of the Design Manager**:

- Chartered or (near Chartered) Structural Engineer
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
- At least 4 year’s experience within the architectural/structural steelwork sector
- Previous experience managing a team of Engineers
- Good technical understanding of relevant standards associated with structural steelwork, bridge works and other such structural design standards
- Ability to work with Tekla and AutoCAD drawing packages
