**Job Title**: UX Designer
**Contract Type**: Permanent
**Location**: Edinburgh or Alderley Park
**Working style**: Hybrid 50% home/office based
**Closing date**: 16th February 2024

This is a genuinely exciting time to join the Design Team in Royal London as we accelerate our customer, adviser and employer experience transformation and reimagine our digital services. As a UX Designer, you will join a dedicated team within our UK Customer business with likeminded colleagues, passionate about providing exceptional experiences that help ensure our customers get the best possible outcomes.

The role’s primary focus is on the design and delivery of innovative and inclusive customer-centric experiences that meet user needs and expectations. This is a great opportunity for someone who is either looking to make a move into UX Design for the first time or increase their existing knowledge with the support of a dedicated team base.

About the role

Led by the Product Designer, you’ll work collaboratively with a product team using the agile framework to help shape an inclusive customer experience.
You’ll develop and maintain wireframes using our standards which will be used to articulate the UX requirements for features.
With support, you’ll carry out and analyse findings from user research, using standard methods such as prototyping and usability tests, surveys, and observation.
You will regularly share work with the wider design team and actively seek feedback and support from senior and lead UX designers.
Support the delivery and adoption of Royal London’s Design System with the goal of maintaining a design framework that provides a common design and development approach across all digital touchpoints.
With support, ensure standards within product delivery teams relating to inclusive design, design system standards and accessibility are maintained.
You’ll be expected to be comfortable communicating your design ideas and research findings to the product team and actively contribute ideas.

About you

Demonstrate a sound understanding of usability, research methodologies, information architecture and interaction design.
Good understanding of user-centred design processes.
Basic understanding of inclusive design and accessibility as an outcome.
Awareness of responsive and adaptive web design with mobile first thinking.
Some experience presenting to stakeholders would be beneficial.
Experience using design and research tools such as Figma or User Zoom would be beneficial but any experience in visual design and prototyping is welcome.
