The Collections Management and Care team could be described as ‘people services’ for collections. They manage acquisitions, disposals, borrowing and lending and coordinate legal ownership and provenance research (due diligence). They also support lender negotiations, arrange insurance, transport and maintain documentation.

The Collections Management and Care team are currently embarking on some exciting new projects, and we are looking to recruit 2 full time (37.5 hrs per week) roles until 29 February 2024.

We plan to interview w/c 4th September, this will be done remotely by WebEx.

What it's like to work here:Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve travel to our head office to meet with colleagues and to carry out work.

What you'll be doing:You’ll be a key member of the central Collections Management Team. You will provide support to the Collections Standards or Loans Review team to deliver packages of work to support accreditation, collections procedures or loans management.

You’ll help to keep our collections database accurately and efficiently up to date. This may include a range of tasks including due diligence research, creating and amending records, and supporting colleagues to undertake collection management tasks in line with our procedures and guidance.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

- Experience of using collections management systems.
- Awareness of collections management procedures and Spectrum 5.1 and Museum Accreditation standards.
- Understanding of legal ownership and provenance research.
- Understands data protection legislation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent IT skills (Microsoft Office).
- Able to multi-task, attentive to detail and maintain confidentiality.
- Able to engage with external stakeholders and develop partnerships with ease and confidence.
