**About the role**
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an **MPV Seasonal Planner** to join our Rail team to work in** Horsham.**

**Role Purpose**:

- Balfour Beatty Rail is an international leader in the design, construction, equipping, maintenance, management and renewal of rail assets and systems. We currently have an interesting opportunity, within our Rail Plant business, for a Crew Planner to join our small dedicated team based at our Hither Green Depot in South East London;
- Reporting to the relevant area Regional Operations Manager, the Seasonal Planner role involves allocating our train driver/machine operator resource to the emerging work plan, ensuring the optimum utilisation of staff to meet customer requirements and completing in a safe and cost-effective way.

**What you'll be doing**
As an **MPV Seasonal Planner** you will:

- Provide assistance in all aspects of short and long-term planning function to ensure MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) shift delivery is managed to the customer’s requirements (Network Rail);
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures on Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental are adhered to and report any risks to your line Manager;
- Ensure all administration is clear concise and maintained for auditing purposes;
- Prepare all statutory documentation for all operators on a weekly basis: Work Plans, Rosters, Circuits Amendments, and WON’s;
- Assist with preparation work with internal and external audits.

**Who we're looking for**
Personal Qualities and Experience:
Whilst previous experience of logistics and the operational railway environment would be useful, it is not essential, the key skills/experience required are as follows:

- Computer literate - our planning process is controlled by a bespoke computer package;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
- A calm and flexible approach - the work plan often gets changed at short notice due to changed customer requirements or staff absence;
- A good geographic knowledge of Sussex and Wessex areas;
- Ability to make a positive contribution to a small dedicated and hardworking team.

Whilst this is a regular day job, working Monday to Friday, some flexibility around hours will be required when short notice changes to the work plan arise.
