Part of your role will include contouring structures on a PC therefore being computer literate and having good hand eye coordination is of high importance.

There is also the opportunity of a level 4 apprenticeship in Healthcare Science for more formal training and with a view to career progression.

- Using various computer systems to contour external and internal structures on patients’ CT scans in preparation for radiotherapy treatment plans
- Use computer systems to schedule the work of treatment planning
- To organise and prepare patient data prior to treatment planning.
- Locating and retrieving notes/ scans and x-rays when required
- Deliver compassionate customer service to our patients
- Conduct regular checks of equipment and responsible for reporting any faults in which are found
- Perform routine clerical administrative duties - filing plans, answering telephone queries, updating databases and conducting routing stock control
- To liaise with oncologists, physicists, technicians, dosimetrists, radiographers and other relevant staff, to ensure the completion of treatment plans according to protocol, and in a timely manner

The post‑holder will be responsible for using various computer systems to contour external and internal structures on patients’ CT scans in preparation for radiotherapy treatment plans to be prepared by the department’s physicists and dosimetrists. ‘In-house’ training will be provided.

Other duties will include the collection and collation of information required to produce treatment plans, locating and retrieving notes, scans and x-rays when necessary.
