**Job Title: Junior Formulation Chemist**

**The Company**

Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Junior Formulation Chemist for a manufacturer of personal care and cosmetic products based in Norfolk.

J**ob Purpose**

The New Product Development department drives the business and works closely with the Commercial department and customers. They are encouraged to be creative and to identify new raw materials and concepts, as well as to utilise existing raw materials.

**Duties**
- The Junior Formulation Chemist will work alongside the Account Manager and will meet with customers to understand their product briefs.
- They will contribute to the development of formulations for new products, from lab scale to batch production, and will manage new product development trials.
- They will be responsible for managing projects assigned to them, to ensure timescales are adhered to, and to ensure product performance. They will need to take corrective actions when required.
- The Junior Formulation Chemist will ensure samples meet the brief before being issued.
- They will need to ensure that formulations and product stability trials are carried out and that documents for legal requirements are produced.
- They will need to establish product costs.

**Qualifications, Skills and abilities required**
- Degree in Chemistry or a related Science, preferably Cosmetic Science. An SCS diploma will be considered.
- Knowledge of basic chemistry is essential. Formulation knowledge would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
- A passion for the cosmetics and health and beauty industry.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
