Vision for Education are seeking to appoint resilient and driven Youth Offending Officer's, to work within specialised provisions in the Newcastle upon Tyne Local Authority.

**About the role**:
The successful Youth Offending Officer will be directly supporting some of the area's most disengaged young learners, who will be actively involved in crime and will be registered under the Youth Offenders Act. Based within an educational setting, a Youth Offending officer will support the students in their education, will be involved in outreach work for students are involved in truancy, and dealing with difficult and challenging behaviours on a day to day basis.

**About the school**:
We work with a variety of SEND schools in local areas in the North East including North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Newcastle, Gateshead, Northumberland, Sunderland, Washington and Durham. We offer full time and part time roles during school hours Monday - Friday between 8:30am - 3:30pm. We offer roles in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Further Education with students aged between 2-19 years. Our schools cater for children with SEND including and not limited to; Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Challenging Behaviour, MLD, SLD, PMLD, Visual and Hearing Impairments, Physical Disabilities and Speech, Language and Communication Needs.

**Requirements**:
To be considered for the role of Youth Offending Officer you will:

- Experience with challenging behaviours and difficult situations.
- Have a caring and nurturing nature.
- Have a passion for working in education with vulnerable children and getting them engaged in learning.
- Previous experience of working in school, care or support work settings with SEND children, young people or vulnerable adults.
- Have a current Enhanced DBS or be willing to go through the DBS process.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
